ABOUT:   "Caligula", Albert Camus

"Caligula" is a philosophical piece that speaks of the position of man, freedoms, rebellions, and the meaning of life. The starting point for shaping the scenography was the Roman Senate. That parliament runs through all three times that the play evokes - Ancient Rome, the time of World War II and fascism, and the present era. The composition is modular. Each module is a place in the parliament in which various contents are placed and their successive appearances give new meanings to the space like swimming pool, gym, theater, brothel… These small changes provide support for the actors’ performances and joined with lighting design constantly make the atmosphere of the whole play more dynamic and diverse.
